Beamed Pedestrian Gantry, University of Manchester

With the front elevation of the scaffold being situated on Manchester's busy Oxford road, the need for a heavy duty pavement protection gantry was crucial. The gantry was required for a number of reasons, firstly to protect the general public below, secondly to support the independent access scaffold and temporary Ubix roof above, and lastly to be used as a temporary storage area for the scaffolder's during the erection/dismantling of the scaffold.

Temporary Roof, University of Manchester

The Ubix roof structure was supported to the front and rear by independent scaffolds. The rear elevation scaffold was bearing directly onto the ground, with the front elevation scaffold bearing onto the heavy duty pavement protection gantry. The span of the Ubix roof structure was 25m, with 4m freestanding above the eaves.
